Ever walk into Victoria’s Secret only to become heartbroken upon leaving? Yah, me too. Every. Single. Time. If it’s not because I left without that super cute $200 lace bodysuit, then it’s because I bought that super cute $200 lace bodysuit. Well, what if I told you that you could find gorgeous, hand made, and inexpensive lingerie pieces that mimic the designs of Victoria’s Secret online? (Geez that last sentence made me sound like an infomercial of some sort, I swear this post isn’t sponsored haha). Well, you’d probably say it’s too good to be true. But, it’s not!
The Etsy shopLace Laboffers a variety of handmade lace pieces for extremely reasonable prices. Extremely reasonable prices as in lace bralettes from $11 and lace bodysuits from $30… Not only do they carry stunning pieces at low price points, but they are also constantly creating new lace and embroidery designs; so their shop is always updated. In addition to all this good shtuff, Lace Lab’s deliveries are unmatchably speedy. By the time my order (and there were multiple items in the shipment) was placed, it took a single hour for my package to ship, and only three days for it to arrive through international delivery! I know I’m not the only individual to notice their fantastic shipping, as many of their reviewers made comment of their quick shipments and deliveries too.
Definitely make sure to go check them out, and remember to keep checking back as they are constantly updating their stock! I’ll leave their link here for you. For now I’ve included some photos from a recent shoot with Kalina Denault Photography featuring two of Lace Lab’s handmade lace bodysuits. Enjoy!
Unfortunately, Lace Lab no longer offers the two bodysuits pictured above; however, I’ll link some of my favourites from their current designs- here, here, and here! I’ve linked the pieces in order of the pictures below for your convenience.

I am so unbelievably happy that there is a substantial earring trend this season. I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve really dove into any jewelry trend, and Hartgave me the ambition to do so. Tassel earrings. One of the chicest touches you can add to your outfits this Spring/ Summer season, and also one of the biggest current trends. With the addition of tassel earrings, your entire look instantly elevates, leaving an elegant presence. And look how fun they are! They’re really quite hard to resist if you ask me, which is why I am so so so excited to share Hartwith you all. Hart Hagerty, the founder and designer behind Hart, works directly with Chinese artisans and suppliers to produce her tassel earrings. As she currently resides in Shanghai, her earrings are a direct representation and inspiration of Chinese culture, in the most stylish form.
The photos below feature two of Hart’s signature topknot tassel earrings in the colours sage and cornflower blue, both of which I’ll link down below for your convenience. For now, make sure to check out the photos from my most recent shoot with Jorja Coral Photography!
For this look I paired Hart’stopknot tassel earrings with this gold shimmer midi dress that I picked up at Dynamite during their BOGO 50% off sale! I’m always a bit skeptical of the quality of Dynamite’s clothing, but this dress was honestly such a steal. The fabric, the shimmer, the length. I love everything about this dress. In fact, I may go as far as to say that this is one of my current favourites… I know, crazy! And pairing it with these earrings fromHartis just the cherry on top. I absolutely love how the sage tassel earrings bring out the gold in the dress, both of the colours just beautifully melt together. Of course, the cornflower blue earrings are also just as stunning when matched with this dress.
As Hart states herself, “expect to get compliments each time you wear them.” And she’s not wrong; every single time I’ve worn mine to date, I’ve received a compliment. Go get yourself a pair, or ten, now!!
Thanks for reading today’s post, and also thank you SO much for 700 followers!! Your dedication to Darling in Scarlet means the world to me.
They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend- and for good reason. They sparkle and they won’t steal your boyfriend; it’s a win win. The downfall? I’m a 20 year old University student who doesn’t have the resources (aka: moolah) to rock diamonds on the regular. So what’s a girl to do? Well, I give you Everly; the ring shop that carries a variety of simulated diamonds and gemstones presented in beautiful sterling silver designs.
Through Everly I received this stunning set of three rings, which is pictured below. With my current obsession with all things rose gold (I mean, what gal isn’t all about rose gold lately?), I opted for two of their rose gold pieces, separated by a classic silver design. Put them all together and you’ve got the perfect ring stack! Best part? They look a whole lot more expensive than they actually are. Everly is currently offering their stackable ring sets for 3/$150, 4/$199, and 5/$250.
This ring stack is the perfect addition to any outfit! As shown in the pictures, I chose to pair them with a champagne coloured dress from Dynamite and my nude clutch from Aldo, although they’d honestly look great with anything!
I typically have a few rings that I like to wear daily- just to make my outfit look a lot more put together than it probably is- and I have definitely now added these Everly rings to the collection. I am in love.
Does anyone else have the childhood memory of wearing gaucho pants literally everywhere? I say childhood memory because I would have been about 9 years old at the time of the trend; I know, I’m just a squirt. But even my Build-a-Bear had a wardrobe full of the cropped bottoms. Years later I looked back on the trend distastefully; however, fashion’s once again come full circle and is right back to those good ol’ days of wide legged pants. When the trend first made its return appearance on the runway a few years back, I dreaded the thought. Now? Now I’m rocking culottes every other day. Funny how tastes change in time and with trend. So my question to you is just that. How do you feel about this wide legged pant’s comeback? Let me know in the comments!
For this look, I paired a sage coloured off the shoulder crop top from Forever 21 with some striped culottes from Mango. I chose a subtle top to keep the focus on the pants. I absolutely love the added detail of the slit on the front of the pant legs; it makes the pants so flowy and comfortable! My mom actually liked these pants so much that she stole them from me, and I ended up buying her her own pair! Check out the full look below.
Who wouldn’t love getting new undies in the mail each month… like, need I write more? Well, at least let me go into detail a little.Bootay Bagis an online monthly subscription that sends you undies (of your specified taste) each month! When first applying for the subscription, Bootay Bag will ask you to answer a series of questions related to your underwear preferences. Thus, allowing semi-customization. While offering undies at your doorstep, you also have the option to include a bralette in your monthly bag at an additional cost. I’ve included some pics of the Bootay Bag that I recently received, along with the cute undies I found inside. Go check them out!
What if I told you that you could rock gorgeous designer pieces without breaking the bank; would you believe me? I honestly wouldn’t have believed myself prior to stumbling uponOld Soul Vintage Jewelrya few months ago. Old Soul Vintage Jewelry is an Etsy shop that offers vintage bracelets, earrings, rings, necklaces, handbags, designer glasses, scarves, and hand-made vintage button bracelets and earrings. I was fortunate enough to receive this vintage Yves Saint Laurent hand-made button ring, and it has now become a favourite in my ring collection! As I’ve stated a number of times in my previous posts, a few unique rings on one’s hand perfectly complements and elevates a look. Details, details, details. Now of course, rocking a vintage Yves Saint Laurent ring will bring your fashion game to a whole new level. Check out some pics below!!

One of Spring’s biggest up and coming trends is that of gingham. Of course gingham has been runway popular for the past few S/S seasons; however, I find it to be a particularly highlighted trend this 2017 season. I could be wrong, but I feel as if gingham is one of those patterns that you either love or hate with no in between. For myself personally, I absolutely love the print and am overjoyed to see Dorothy’s signature look returning to street wear. But, on the other hand, I can understand people’s interpretation of the pattern as a wearable table cloth. I suppose that’s the beauty of individuality within current trends. Same goes for various other patterns and prints. For instance, I find it funny that I’m a huge fan of gingham, but I wouldn’t dare be caught wearing plaid outside of the bedroom- when both patterns are so similar in style and on trend.
For today’s outfits, Jorja and I spent the afternoon at Fort Whyte Alive to bring you this picnic inspired shoot. As I wanted to style two different gingham looks for this post, and didn’t think of where I’d be able to change at Fort Whyte, I ended up changing in the outdoor teepee they had set up. Now I have changed in a lot of very strange locations for shoots, but none quite as strange as a public teepee. Haha. Either way, our shoots always lead to an adventure and I love it.
Look #1- Gingham Picnic
For the first look, I was inspired by the picnic-like pattern of the ensemble, and went ahead with a themed shoot. Call me cheesy, but I really love how these photos turned out (thanks again, Jorja!). By pairing this co-ord look with a pair of nude block heels, I was able to create the perfect summer picnic ensemble. Oh! And of course I included a basket and tulips. Well, they were tulips before all of the petals decided to fall off en route to Fort Whyte..
Check out the photos below for the full look!
Look #2- Railway Gingham
If you haven’t already noticed, I felt extra creative (Mitch would instead use the words cheesy or quirky) while writing this post, and decided to create a themed title for each look. Ie: the “Railway Gingham” and the “Picnic Gingham”. Hate me for it if you will, but I think it’s kind of cute!
So, for this “Railway Gingham” look, I paired a high neck gingham printed dress with my JORD wood watch, and the same nude mid heels that I’ve been sporting non-stop this Spring. I’ll link the details for the watch here. I have been all about high necklines this season, as they create such an elegant Victorian detail. I find them to be so feminine; yet, so strong at the same time- because girls are SUPER strong! I’ll be posting a lot more of this trendy cut, so be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any posts!
While at Fort Whyte Alive, Jorja and I stumbled across an old abandoned railway in the midst of the forest. Well, we couldn’t not shoot there with it’s rustically historic charm; it practically screamed the perfect photoshoot location! See for yourself below.
Oh how I’ve longed for Spring’s arrival. And, now that it’s finally upon us, I can go ahead and transition my closet from Fall/ Winter back to Spring/ Summer. Is it just me or do you guys also tire of winter trends by the middle of February? At that point all I want to do is say so long to chunky knits and hello to playful rompers. I say the middle of February because by that point in the winter the holiday season is long over and all that remains is cabin fever. At least here in Manitoba, February temperatures typically drop to -30/ -40 degree weather (not gonna lie, the occasional -50 is in there too). Thus, officially deeming February the worst month of winter. As you can clearly see, Spring has my warm welcome! So to celebrate Spring’s arrival, I’m partnering with JORD Wood Watches to host my very first blog GIVEAWAY!! JORD carries a wide array of hand-crafted women’s and men’s watches; all made from various mediums of wood. Below I’ve listed all the things I love about JORD.
JORD offers watches hand made from an abundance of woods, including but not limited to: rosewood, bamboo, and acacia. As no piece of wood is the same, each watch has a stunning one of a kind pattern to it.

JORD also provides their customers with detailed information regarding the different wood types they carry. The source, tree height, hardness, grain/ texture, sustainability, shrinkage, and dried weight are all included in their write ups. In fact, JORD is very environmentally aware of the negative impacts involved with the forestry industry, and ensures their wood is-not listed in the CITES Appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Thus, allowing a more environmentally conscious consumer.
In addition to creating a healthy environmental impact through the purchase of a JORD watch, you’ll also be sporting quite the fashion statement! All of JORD’s watches are to die for; each one individually unique and beautiful. Check out the photos below and see for yourself!
Free International Shipping
As a Canadian citizen, this next point is so appealing. And I’m sure my fellow Canadian readers are with me when I say that paying shipping/ taxes/ and duty fees on online orders from the U.S. (or elsewhere) SUCKS. Free international shipping please!!
Everyone has that someone in their life that is impossible to shop for. The person we all dread gift buying for come the holiday season, the person that already has everything, that particularly picky individual. Someone came into your mind while reading that, didn’t they? Well, look no further because JORD offers custom engravings on both the watch itself, as well as the box that it comes in (which, by the way, is way too cute- make sure to check out the pictures!). Add a personal touch to the already perfect gift. You really can’t go wrong!

I was recently lucky enough to receive some skin care and makeup products from Olga’s Organics, and guys.. I am in love!! As many of you are already aware, I am the number one mascot for team skin care (I realize that’s not a saying, but I apparently just made it one). I would much rather spend money on high end skin care products than on high end makeup. We need to take care of our bodies and skin ladies, they’re with us for life!
Upon realization of all the harmful and unnatural toxins found within popular makeup and skin care products, the founder of Olga’s Organics, Olga, decided to create her own natural beauty products at home. By doing so, she’s able to produce products that are USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO, Paraben Free, Petrolatum Free, BHA Free, Sodium Laureth Sulfate Free, Vegan, and most importantly never tested on our animal friends.
Below I’ve shared with you the products that I was sent, enjoy!
Olga’s Organics’ Loose Face Powder in Translucent
The first product I received in my package was their loose face powder that consisted of seven natural ingredients. Yes, you heard me correct, only seven ingredients. Amazing, right? I’ve listed these seven ingredients below for your convenience.
Let’s break it down!
USDA Organic Lavender Essential Oil. This essential oil tones the skin and boosts circulation through cell renewal, while containing anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that fight bacteria which cause acne and inflammation. Thus, detoxifying the skin.
USDA Organic Ginger. Ginger contains about 40 antioxidant compounds that protect against aging and nourishingly softens the skin by stimulating circulation. By applying it to your forehead, ginger is also a natural remedy for migraines!
USDA Organic Cacao. Cacao actually protects the skin from harmful UV rays by acting as a natural sunscreen, all while containing vitamins C and Magnesium to keep the skin hydrated. The omega 6 fatty acids present in the cacao also help to heal wounds and scars- which is super neat!
USDA Organic Nutmeg. Nutmeg is a natural astringent which provides relief from skin blemishes and acne, also delivering moisture to your skin- so you can have blemish free skin without the dryness, it’s a win-win!
USDA Organic Arrowroot. Arrowroot is a light, soft, and absorbent powder that creates a smoother surface by enabling the skin to absorb moisture. It’s also rich with vitamins A and C!
USDA Organic Cinnamon. Cinnamon helps to restore the shine and suppleness in the skin by removing dead skin cells, and the anti-bacterial properties fight skin dryness.
Bentonite Clay. This clay includes over 50 minerals and causes accelerated healing and nourishment to the skin.

Olga’s Organics’ Loose Face Powder comes in three shades- translucent, light, and medium. As I regularly wear powders in the shade translucent, I decided to opt for that one. The powder is so fine that I barely noticed I was wearing any makeup at all- which is absolutely perfect for those of you who dislike the feeling of sporting face makeup! Definitely go check this product out!!
Olga’s Organics’ Kabuki Brush
Along with my loose face powder, I was sent Olga’s Kabuki Brush made with vegan fibres. And oh my goodness, don’t you just looove the softness and cleanliness of new brushes?!! You just can’t beat it. Well, not only are their brushes super DUPER soft, but they also promote sustainability. I’ll explain in point form below- because let’s be honest, point form is just so much more appealing to read!
P.s. Isn’t this quote detail on their packaging just adorable?
Bamboo Handle. By incorporating bamboo into the product, Olga is helping to reduce deforestation- as bamboo typically grows 25 times faster than other wood types.
Good Quality. Kabuki brushes have to probably be my all time favourite brush type (if that’s even a thing), so I know a good brush when I see one. With no shedding and a solid handle, this brush is a must have for makeup application!
Vegan Fibres. Olga not only creates vegan face and body products, but also applicators- so neat! Prior to coming in contact with her company, I never would have even thought there were vegan brushes out there. You too? Now that you know, go get one for yourself!
Soft. I know I’ve already been over the brush’s softness, but it’s just SO soft!
Olga’s Organics’ Whipped Body Butter in Lavender
Okay so this product has to be my favourite out of the three sent to me. Not to pick favourites or anything, but you’d understand to try it. It is absolutely WONDERFUL. There are far too many good things to say about this body butter, but I’ll link a few standout features below!
THE SMELL. Um hello lavender, it’s ever so nice to meet you. If you’ve ever been to Thermea spa then you’ll be able to easily compare the scent to that of Thermea’s lavender body scrub. Yum. Oh, and did I mention the lavender oil is USDA organic certified?
USDA Organic Certified. As stated above; and, obviously a huge bonus.
Dryness Relief. I get extremely dry hands in the colder months and; as we are just coming out of freezing temperatures here in Manitoba, it is crucial that I have reliant skin care. For my first use, I put this product on on my hands and arms and left it over night. By the morning I felt like a new person- not literally, but you know what I mean. Everything was so soft and smooth. I don’t know this soft hands Quinn very well, but I already love her!
Natural & Vegan Ingredients. I’ll quickly list off the ingredients found in this body butter so you can see why I’m so excited about this product.
Raw/Unrefined Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sunflower Oil, Arrowroot Flour, and a proprietary blend of Non GMO Vitamin(s) and USDA Organic Essential Oil(s).
Have you ever seen an ingredient list so appealing?? If you know me at all, you’ll know my love for coconut oil; I use it every night as my facial moisturizer (and for like a whole bunch of other things haha). The incorporated shea butter is a step up from just my jar of coconut oil; the coconut oil mixed with the shea butter is a match made in heaven!
I am so so SO happy with the turnout of these products, and I highly recommend Olga’s products to anyone and everyone. I’ll link her website here for your convenience, definitely go check out her natural makeup and body products!
As themed as it probably sounds, I ended up packing a lot of tropical prints in my vacay luggage to the Dominican Republic. And, to be quite honest, I’m not a tad bit ashamed of my cliché wardrobe. Just as I wear pink on Valentine’s Day, and sequins on New Year’s Eve, I wear tropical prints on a tropical vacay.
This particular tropical off the shoulder dress that I’m wearing was purchased through J Crew last season. Unfortunately, they no longer carry it, but you can find similar tropical printed off the shoulder looks here, here, here and here (in order of the images pictured below).
For the past couple years I have been all about off the shoulder looks, and I am ever so happy that this trend is continuing right into the 2017 S/S season. There’s something so casually feminine about sporting this simple look, and it’s so easy to dress up or down! Pair an off the shoulder dress with heels and a slicked back bun for a girls’ night out on the town, or throw it over a bikini with wind blown locks for an effortless beachy look. The versatility is endless!
Below I’ve included some photos featuring this Rati print dress from J Crew, enjoy!
* Photographers: Jorja Coral Photography and Mitch (he insists that I credit him for all vacay photos haha). Photographers are specified under each image.
